About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Sports Coach to join our team as a Tutor/Assessor, supporting apprentices working towards their Sports Coach qualifications.
This is a remote, national role - so you will be comfortable managing your own diary and working independently, while being fully supported by a passionate and experienced team behind you.
If you have a background in sports coaching and a genuine enthusiasm for helping others develop, this could be a really exciting next step for you.
It would be a bonus if you are also able to deliver Level 5 Learning & Skills programmes, but this is not essential - if you meet the core requirements, we would love to hear from you.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Delivering engaging, high-quality coaching and teaching sessions to apprentices
- Supporting learners through their qualifications and apprenticeship standards
- Conducting regular progress reviews with learners and employers, setting clear and achievable targets
- Guiding learners through practical assessments, ensuring all documentation meets awarding body and EPA requirements
- Keeping your own CPD up to date and maintaining your vocational knowledge in the sports coaching sector
- Building strong relationships with learners, employers and colleagues to support the best possible outcomes
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Level 3–4 Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (CTLLS) or equivalent
- Hands-on experience working in the Sports Coach sector
- Recent experience assessing or teaching adults
- A genuine commitment to helping others grow and develop
- Good ICT skills and the confidence to work remotely
- Evidence of ongoing CPD
- Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy
Desirable (but not essential — please still apply if you meet the above!):
- Level 4 Sports Coach qualification
- Level 5 Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (DTLLS)
- An assessor qualification
- Knowledge of regulatory bodies such as Ofsted, CIMSPA and OFQUAL
A Few More Things to Know
- This is a permanent, full-time position working 35 hours per week with some flexibility required
- Some travel may be required for meetings and standardisation activities — a full driving licence and access to your own transport is needed
- Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a Teams interview, which will include a short Micro Teach session relevant to the role
