We have an opportunity for a Manufacturing Planning & Operations Coordinator who will act as the primary planning, operations coordination and capacity management lead between Manufacturing and the wider business. The role coordinates the flow of information, materials, resources, and work across Manufacturing, Engine Build, Inspection, Stores, Purchasing, and Engineering, ensuring that production plans, technical data, and material availability are fully aligned to support both current commitments and future business growth. The position provides real-time operational visibility of production status, manufacturing capacity, and resource utilisation at each stage of the operation from inception to delivery enabling accurate assessment of new opportunities, realistic delivery commitments, and effective forecasting of future demand.

Key Responsibilities
Through the implementation of robust planning processes, proactive capacity management, and early identification of bottlenecks, the role ensures the business has the resources and materials required to meet customer requirements while driving the transition from reactive planning to a proactive, data-driven operation. Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Develop and manage daily/weekly production schedules, balancing capacity, resources and project priorities to meet delivery targets.
- Maintain visibility of manufacturing orders from machining through inspection, subcontract and stores. Identify bottlenecks, expedite delays and provide accurate completion forecasts.
- Proactively identify and resolve risks such as late drawings, material shortages, tooling delays, machine downtime and supplier issues before they impact production.
- Act as the link between Manufacturing, Engine Build, Project Management, Design, Engineering, Purchasing and Stores, ensuring priorities and requirements are clearly understood.
- Coordinate technical requirements and purchase orders for subcontract processes, tooling and consumables, ensuring suppliers have accurate specifications and lead times are managed.
- Monitor component availability against project demand and work with Stores to ensure parts are available and kitted for assembly.
- Maintain accurate, real-time production data, including job status, cycle times and capacity information.
- Represent Manufacturing at relevant meetings, communicate priorities and ensure actions are followed through.
- Prepare technical quotation information and support the Manufacturing Manager with departmental risk reporting and operational planning.
What we are looking for
The ideal candidate will have strong engineering knowledge, including drawing interpretation, materials, manufacturing processes and treatments. You will also have some of the following skills and experience:
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to challenge, chase and drive actions to completion.
- Strong problem-solving ability, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues before they affect production.
- Highly organised and process-driven, with a genuine focus on planning, accuracy and keeping projects on track.
- Experience with production planning/ERP systems and an understanding of manufacturing capacity and workflow.
- HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing or Operations is desirable.
- Experience within motorsport, aerospace, automotive or precision manufacturing is advantageous.
