Full job description

We are looking for two part-time Medical Receptionists to join our friendly and busy team at Lindfield Medical Centre.

We would like to hear from candidates with excellent communication skills, who are cheerful, flexible and enjoy working as part of a team.

The starting salary is £12.71 per hour, rising to £13.04 per hour. We offer 6 weeks of annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata), alongside membership of the NHS pension scheme.

The hours for Position 1:

Monday 07:45-16:00 = 8.25 hours

Wednesday 07:45-13:00 = 5.25 hours

Total weekly hours: 13.50 hours

The hours for Position 2:

Thursday 13:00-18:15 = 5.25 hours

Friday 10:00-18:15 = 8.25 hours

Total weekly hours: 13.50 hours

A brief overview of the role:

Answering calls/speaking to patients at reception, effectively gathering information from patients to identify their needs

Checking and dealing with emails - forwarding them as necessary to the appropriate department

Using the clinical system to check and action tasks sent by clinical and admin staff

Through training, become familiar with practice procedures and forms

Acting as a chaperone for patient

Be able to ensure dependable method of travel due to early morning starts

Required skills

Ability to think on feet
Ability to prioritise different tasks
Ability to explain procedures to all staff
Strong IT skills

Ability to implement policy and procedures
