The Opportunity
Our client is a growing cleaning business with a strong reputation for quality and reliability across end of tenancy and construction cleaning. They are looking for an experienced, commercially minded Operations Manager to lead their operations team and drive the department forward.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is confident managing people and client relationships, and has the drive to make things run smoothly — and profitably.
What You’ll Be Doing
Leading day-to-day operations
- Plan and coordinate daily workloads, staffing and scheduling
- Act as the primary point of contact for Team Leaders
- Resolve operational, staffing and scheduling challenges as they arise
- Manage stock ordering and maintain inventory levels
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability
Managing client relationships and commercial activity
- Oversee quotations, bookings and job allocation
- Build strong client relationships and proactively manage customer satisfaction
- Attend sites to scope works and prepare quotations
- Support tender submissions and business development opportunities
Delivering construction cleaning projects
- Manage construction cleaning projects end to end
- Lead larger projects on-site, including supervising sizeable teams
- Liaise with clients, site managers and contractors to ensure successful delivery
Quality, compliance and people
- Champion high standards of workmanship and customer service
- Conduct regular quality inspections and audits
- Ensure Health & Safety compliance across the department
- Lead recruitment, onboarding, training and performance management
- Authorise timesheets, holiday requests and expense claims
Financial performance
- Raise invoices and monitor departmental profitability using Syft
- Review team performance and productivity using company reporting tools
- Contribute to the continued growth of the department
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in an operations management role, ideally within cleaning, facilities, construction or a similar service industry
- Confident people manager with experience leading frontline teams
- Strong client-facing skills and a commercial mindset
- Excellent organisation and problem-solving ability
- Comfortable working at pace and adapting to changing priorities
- Financially literate, with experience monitoring budgets and profitability
- Health & Safety awareness
- Competent IT user; experience with operational or job management systems is an advantage
