Full job description

Position: Chartered Surveyor - Project Management
Location: Town Hall, Ripley, Derbyshire, DE5 3BT, United Kingdom
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Duration: 20 weeks (5+ Months)
Working Hours: 15 hours per week; 2 Days per week: 1 ITO and 1 WFH (Ideally Monday WFH and Tuesday ITO)
Pay Rate: PAYE: £289.77 per day

Job Responsibilities:

Manage and deliver building and property projects from inception through to completion
Prepare project plans, specifications, budgets and programmes
Manage contractors, consultants and other project stakeholders
Monitor project costs, quality, progress and deadlines
Undertake property/building surveys and identify required works
Manage procurement and contract processes in line with Council procedures
Ensure projects comply with relevant legislation, building regulations, health & safety and professional standards
Provide professional advice on building and estate-related matters
Prepare reports, recommendations and project updates for senior management
Identify and manage project risks and resolve issues effectively

Person Specification:

Qualified Chartered Surveyor with relevant professional membership (e.g. RICS)
Strong experience in building surveying and project management
Experience managing construction, refurbishment or property-related projects
Good knowledge of procurement, contracts, budgets and project management processes
Experience managing contractors, consultants and multiple stakeholders
Strong understanding of relevant building regulations, health & safety and property legislation
Excellent communication, negotiation and report-writing skills
Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects
Experience within a Local Authority or public-sector property/estates environment is desirable
Ability to work independently and provide professional advice and recommendations
