Full job description

Job Description and Purpose:

To plan and coordinate transport operations efficiently, ensuring timely deliveries and collections, with optimal resource utilisation, and compliance with legal and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and manage daily transport plans, including routing and scheduling, effectively and efficiently.
Coordinate with drivers, warehouse staff, and customer service teams to ensure smooth operations.
Monitor vehicle movements using TMS and GPS systems.
Resolve transport-related issues such as delays or route changes.
Ensure compliance with transport regulations and company policies.
Maintain accurate records of transport activities and performance.
Collaborate with internal teams to improve customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Key Tasks:

Create and issue driver manifests and delivery schedules.
Allocate vehicles and drivers based on load requirements and availability.
Input and update transport data in TMS, including ensuring that ALL assets are available to be maintained, serviced in line with the Maintenance and repair schedule.
Track and report on delivery progress and exceptions.
Liaise with hauliers and third-party logistics providers when required.
Analyse transport data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Assist in planning for seasonal peaks and special projects.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of road networks, traffic conditions, and legal restrictions.
Support the implementation of new transport technologies and systems.
Brief drivers next day’s work and ensure all work sent to there tablets.
