Job Summary
Flexible hours, very quick job (15-20 mins per client).

We are seeking a dedicated and professional Phlebotomist to join our DNA testing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients accurately and efficiently, ensuring a high standard of patient care and safety. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in healthcare, with a focus on precision, communication, and compassionate service. The position is paid and suitable for those committed to delivering quality patient support.

Duties

Collect blood samples from patients using venipuncture techniques with precision and care
Verify patient identities and ensure proper labelling of specimens to prevent errors (we train you on this)
Prepare specimens for laboratory testing according to established protocols (we train you on this)
Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety standards
Provide clear and empathetic communication to patients, explaining procedures and addressing concerns
Record relevant patient information accurately using IT systems (we do this for you)
Follow all infection control guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)

Experience

Previous experience in phlebotomy or a related healthcare setting is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to explain procedures clearly and compassionately
Experience in teaching or mentoring others is advantageous but not required
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure specimen accuracy and safety standards are maintained
