Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting medication from the pharmacy to care homes. This role requires excellent driving skills, effective communication, and the ability to manage lifting. If you have previous experience in commercial driving or deliveries we would love to hear from you.

The role is full time Monday to Friday with shift lengths of approximately 7-9hours.

Usual start time of around 1pm daily however some days would be earlier and also later finishing time.

Require a driver who can be flexible and meet the needs of the pharmacy.

Responsibilities

Safely operate a delivery vehicle, ensuring compliance with all traffic laws and regulations.
Load and unload deliveries from the vehicle, performing lifting as necessary.
Communicate effectively with pharmacy staff and care homes regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise.
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including times, locations, and any discrepancies.
Conduct routine vehicle inspections to ensure safety and reliability.
Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries to enhance customer satisfaction.

Requirements

Valid driving licence and previous delivery experience is preferred.
Strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members and customers.
Ability to perform lifting and handle physical tasks associated with loading and unloading goods.
Previous experience as a delivery driver or in a pharmacy environment is advantageous.
Strong organisational skills to manage delivery schedules efficiently.
A positive attitude and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
