Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head Chef/Kitchen Manager to lead our culinary team. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality food and exceptional service. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a passionate culinary professional to manage a vibrant kitchen environment, implement innovative menus, and uphold the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.

Duties

Supervise daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation
Manage and coordinate kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient team environment
Oversee food production processes to ensure consistency and quality across all dishes
Develop and update menus in line with current trends and customer preferences
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including food safety standards
Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock control to minimise waste
Train staff on food preparation techniques, safety procedures, and customer service standards
Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen at all times
Collaborate with front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service delivery
Handle customer feedback professionally, addressing any concerns promptly

Skills

Proven supervising experience in a fast-paced kitchen or hospitality environment
Extensive food production and culinary expertise with a strong focus on quality control
Demonstrated team management skills with the ability to motivate and lead staff effectively
Proficiency in food preparation, cooking techniques, and menu development
Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene standards
Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is highly desirable
Excellent leadership qualities with the ability to organise multiple tasks efficiently
Good understanding of serving procedures and customer service excellence
Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail and professionalism
