Full job description

Join a multi brand travel business at a pivotal moment of our transformation and growth!

We are seeking an experienced and proactive IT Support & Infrastructure Engineer to join our Head Office Technology team.

This role sits at the intersection of advanced end user support and core infrastructure, acting as a key escalation point for the business. You will provide hands on troubleshooting, system administration, and technical support across a broad range of technologies, while also contributing to infrastructure improvements and IT projects.

This position is well suited to someone with strong technical breadth, a pragmatic approach to problem solving, and experience in a business-facing IT support environment.

The successful candidate will benefit from a salary of between £35,000 and £40,000 a year, depending on experience, 30 days annual leave every year including public holidays and increasing by a day each year for the first 3 years, additional paid leave for your birthday and Christmas eve, up to £1580 each year for you and your partner to take a fantastic Leger Shearings tour (and 5 extra paid leave days for it), and opportunities for further professional development with our LSG Scholarship programme.

This is a full time, on site role based at our Rotherham Head Office (S60 2XR). It is not suitable for applicants seeking to work remotely either fully or on a hybrid basis.

Your Key Responsibilities

Provide 1st and 2nd line support for incidents and service requests, acting as an escalation point where required.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues across Windows, Microsoft 365, networking, printers, and end user hardware.
Administer and support Active Directory, Azure Entra ID, Group Policy, Exchange, and other core infrastructure services.
Support remote users and multiple office locations using remote access tools.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date system, process, and known-issue documentation.
Assist with and contribute to IT projects, including system upgrades, deployments, and migrations.
Liaise with third party vendors and service providers as required.
Ensure compliance with IT policies, procedures, and security standards.
Maintain accurate IT asset tracking and inventory.

Infrastructure Stability & Hygiene (Patch Compliance, AD / Entra Hygiene, Backup Success Rate)
Platform Reliability (Repeat Incident Reduction, Change Success Rate)
User Experience & Business Impact
Asset & Cost Control (Accuracy of Register, Lifecycle management)
Vendor Management (Contracts, License Optimisations,3rd Party Resolution Times)
Documentation & Knowledge Sharing (Active Ticket Reduction)
Personal Effectiveness (Ticket Ownership, Stakeholder Feedback, Security & Policy Adherence)

About You

You will have the following essential skills and experience:

Experience in an IT support or infrastructure support role.
Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft technologies, including:
Windows 11 and Windows Server
Microsoft 365
Active Directory and Azure Entra ID
Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
Experience working with ITSM / ticketing systems.
Familiarity with Ubiquiti UniFi Gateway and WiFi solutions.
Familiarity with Cisco Meraki networking hardware.
Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to take ownership of issues through to resolution.

Preference will also been given to canddidates who can demonstrate the following:

Experience administering or supporting Azure environments.
Exposure to Unified Endpoint Management and Security tooling (e.g. Intune, ManageEngine Endpoint Central).
Experience with centrally managed Wi Fi platforms (e.g. UniFi).
Exposure to virtualisation technologies such as Hyper V.
