Equans is looking for a Site Manager to join our team in Venture house, Greasbrough Street, Rotherham S60 1RF on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a salary of £30,000.00 per annum and benefits package.
Shift Times;
- Monday to Friday
- 8-hour shifts between 06:00 and 22:00
- 1-hour unpaid break
What will you deliver?
As Site Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation, safety, and security of the site, ensuring a well-maintained and supportive environment for staff, students, and visitors.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and supporting a team of caretakers to deliver a high-quality service
- Ensuring safeguarding requirements are met and maintained
- Managing planned and reactive maintenance activities
- Maintaining accurate site records and compliance documentation
- Overseeing contractors and ensuring health & safety standards are followed
- Carrying out a range of hands-on duties including basic maintenance, site checks, and cleaning tasks
- Supporting the school in delivering a safe and effective learning environment
- Proactively identifying and resolving issues
This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days are the same.

Who are we looking for?
Essential:
- Experience leading or supporting a team
- A commitment to maintaining a safe, secure, and inclusive environment
- Good communication skills and ability to work with a range of stakeholders
- Basic maintenance or facilities knowledge (can be from any relevant setting)
- Understanding of health and safety practices
- Willingness to participate in safeguarding training
Desirable (not essential):
- Experience in a school or similar environment
- Knowledge of building systems (heating, lighting, water systems)
- IT skills (for logging jobs and maintaining records)
- Live within 30 minutes of site to provide reactive call out cover if required
- Full UK driving licence
Additional requirements:
- Ability to obtain an enhanced DBS check
- Participation in an on-call rota may be required (flexibility around location is helpful; exact distance can be discussed)
