Role: Lecturer – Early Years Education

Location: Tresham College – Kettering Campus

Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £33,048 and £38,169 per annum DOE and Qualifications, 45 days annual leave plus Bank holidays, Teacher’s Pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses. Note – Salary and annual leave entitlement is for that of a Qualified Lecturer.

Hours/Weeks: 37 hours per week – 52 weeks per year

Contract Type: Permanent – Full Time

About the role:

We are currently seeking a Lecturer in Early Years Education to join our Health, Social Care and Childcare department at The Bedford College Group.

As a Lecturer, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

Teaching & Learning Delivery - Plan and deliver high-quality teaching across a range of courses and levels, adapting to individual learner needs and creating engaging learning experiences.
Assessment & Student Progress - Assess, verify, and monitor student work against awarding body standards, ensuring progress is tracked, feedback is provided, and deadlines are met.
Curriculum Development & Innovation - Develop schemes of work and learning materials, contribute to new course design, and maintain up-to-date industry knowledge to enhance teaching.
Student Support & Engagement - Guide and support students to achieve their potential, promote positive behaviour, and provide opportunities for vocational development through employer links and enrichment.
Quality, Administration & Compliance - Maintain accurate records, contribute to quality assurance processes, support marketing activities, and uphold safeguarding, EDI, health & safety, and professional development requirements.

About you:

Qualifications & Industry Experience - GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent), with vocational experience in an Early Years setting and up-to-date knowledge of sector developments.
Teaching & Learner Support - Ability to support high-quality learning, create engaging environments, and promote positive outcomes for students.
Communication & Interpersonal Skills - Strong communication, relationship-building, and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse learners and colleagues.
Organisation & Professional Standards - Highly organised with the ability to meet deadlines, contribute to team objectives, and uphold organisational values and professional conduct.
Compliance, Flexibility & Development - Commitment to safeguarding, equality and diversity, and health & safety, with flexibility to travel, continuous professional development, and maintaining appropriate boundaries.
