Overview
We are seeking a talented and experienced Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee food preparation, manage kitchen operations, and ensure the highest standards of food safety and quality. The successful applicant will be responsible for supervising kitchen staff, developing innovative menus, and maintaining a welcoming environment for guests. Previous restaurant experience and a background in hospitality are essential for this position.

Duties

Lead and supervise the kitchen team to ensure efficient food production and service
Prepare, cook, and present dishes according to established recipes and standards
Oversee food safety practices and maintain compliance with health regulations
Manage inventory, order supplies, and control food costs effectively
Develop new menu items in collaboration with management to enhance customer satisfaction
Train and mentor junior staff to improve culinary skills and team cohesion
Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area at all times
Assist in serving guests when necessary, providing excellent customer service
Monitor kitchen operations during service hours to uphold quality standards
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth restaurant operations

Qualifications

Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment, ideally within a restaurant or hospitality setting
Supervising experience with demonstrated leadership capabilities
Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety regulations
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
Experience in food production and team management is highly desirable
A passion for culinary arts and innovation in menu development
Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team
Previous experience in serving guests and delivering exceptional hospitality services is advantageous
