We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Peripatetic Manager to join our leadership team in our Residential Child Care Homes in the Northwest. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and young people.
About the Role
As the Peripatetic Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of a home, ensuring a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for the children and young people in our care. You will lead a team of staff, ensuring high standards of care, compliance with regulatory requirements, and the promotion of positive outcomes for the young residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the residential home in accordance with Ofsted regulations and relevant legislation.
- Ensure the home provides a high-quality, person-centred service to meet the needs of children and young people.
- Supervise, support, and develop staff to maintain a positive and professional team culture.
- Develop and implement care plans, risk assessments, and policies to safeguard young people.
- Foster strong relationships with external agencies, including social workers, healthcare professionals, and education providers.
- Ensure the home operates within budget and maintains financial sustainability.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, striving for outstanding care standards.
Person Specification
Essential:
- Minimum Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
- Experience managing a residential childcare setting.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Children’s Homes Regulations and Ofsted requirements.
- Ability to develop strong relationships with children, families, and professionals.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
- Experience working with children and young people with ASC and/or other LD diagnosis.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care and therapeutic approaches.
