Salary: Scale 4 Point 7-11 (£26,403 - £28,142 pro rata, £10,703 -£11,408 actual per year)
Contract: Permanent, part time (15 hours per week over 2 days), all year round
Closing Date: Sunday 21st June 2026 at 5pm
Start Date: September 2026

The Suthers School are looking to appoint a talented and enthusiastic Finance Officer to join a warm and compassionate environment where every staff member makes a significant contribution to the experience of our students.

Your main responsibilities within this role will be:
Support the day-to-day running of the school’s finance function, ensuring accurate records and compliance with procedures
Assist with budget preparation, monitoring, and monthly financial reporting

Manage the purchase ledger, including processing invoices, raising orders, and reconciling supplier accounts

Process payments (BACS, expenses, and credit cards) and maintain bank and cash reconciliations

Oversee income collection, monitor outstanding debts, and ensure financial controls are followed

Work closely with the Business & Operations Manager and Trust finance team to support audits, VAT returns, and financial processes
