Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled General Maintenance Person to join our team. This role involves performing a variety of maintenance tasks across our facilities, ensuring that all equipment and infrastructure operate smoothly and efficiently. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or supervise others as needed. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the upkeep of a dynamic environment while developing your technical expertise.

Duties

Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on machinery and building systems
Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and plumbing issues using schematics and technical manuals
Perform repairs or fabrication projects
Read and interpret technical schematics, diagrams, and maintenance manuals
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs performed
Supervise contractors during maintenance projects when required
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
Assist with installation of new equipment or infrastructure upgrades
Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests to minimise downtime

Requirements

Proven experience in maintenance roles with strong electrical and mechanical knowledge
Good understanding of electrical systems, including troubleshooting and repairs
Demonstrated ability to read technical diagrams and schematics effectively
Previous supervisory or leadership experience is desirable
Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
Customer service orientation with the ability to work collaboratively across teams
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in documentation and task management
