Full job description

Little Explorers Hythe are looking for an experienced and qualified nursery practitioner to join our dedicated and expanding team working as a Room Leader. The nursery is operational Monday – Friday all year round. We aim to provide a safe and stimulating environment whilst maintaining the children’s learning and development using our curriculum by planning and observing the children every day.

The nursery opened in September 2016, is owned by two teachers and managed by a highly qualified and experienced full time manager. We work closely together along with our brilliant deputy manager. Our staff team are a hard working and dedicated group of excellent practitioners, if you are looking to join a team that work well together you will fit right in. Key Responsibilities:

Ensuring that the curriculum is implemented, through imaginative, creative and child-led initiatives.
Taking on the role of key person for your designated children.
Working in partnership with parents by providing effective feedback on their child’s learning and holding one to one meetings.
Supporting your colleagues and contributing positively to the culture and reputation of the nursery.
Leading team meetings and positively leading a small team
Adhering to Nursery policies and procedures which includes the Safeguarding and Health and Safety of all children.

Requirements:

Experience in the role of leading staff

MUST hold a minimum of an NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education or equivalent

At least one year experience working in a nursery

Experience in tracking children's progress and development

Experience working with In the Moment Planning would be preferable, but not essential

Excellent knowledge of the EYFS statutory framework

An understanding of safeguarding procedures

A passion for working with children under 5 years old

Please contact us if you would like to come and look around our nursery. We are open from 8-6pm, you need to be available to work between 7.30-6pm Monday to Friday. (Room Leaders work between 30 and 40 hours per week.)
