Description

Priory Supported Living London and Home Counties provide supported living services for people with a variety of support needs, conditions and presentations. This includes people who are autistic, have a learning disability or mental health needs. Our specialist support enables people to live happy and fulfilling lives in their own homes within their community.

The support provided by our service is person-centred and specifically tailored to meet every unique need, underpinned by our philosophy that every individual has the right to live the life that they choose for themselves. We can provide support up to 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including 1:1 support.

This role is based in the St Ives area (PE27 postcode). The position requires working weekends and completing sleep-in shifts, so flexibility is essential.

What you'll be doing

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you will act as a positive role model, providing effective supervision and guidance to support staff, ensuring high-quality, person-centred care is delivered at all times.

You will play a key role in supervising day-to-day operations, coaching colleagues, leading team meetings, and ensuring the people who use our service are supported to live fulfilling, independent lives.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and support the delivery of person-centred support and care
Provide leadership during shifts, including handovers, role allocation, and effective communication.
Ensure residents have person-centred plans in place and are supported to participate in meaningful activities.
Deliver team supervisions and contribute to professional development.
Administer medication safely and in line with procedures.
Manage service users’ finances and contribute to budget management in accordance with policy.
Complete and oversee accurate record-keeping, reporting, and compliance with legislation.
Monitor and support team performance, addressing immediate operational issues as needed.
Maintain up-to-date training and knowledge to ensure safe and effective practice.

What you'll bring to the role

Previous experience as a Support Worker or Senior Support Worker is essential.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Ability to supervise, coach, and motivate others
Committed to promoting choice, dignity, and independence for those we support.
Knowledge of care standards, policies, and safeguarding practices.
Reliable, flexible, and proactive in problem-solving.
A caring and respectful approach to supporting others.
Ability to work flexibly and think innovatively.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Commitment to upholding professional standards, policies, and procedures.
