Yard Manager – Warehouse Supervisor Join Our Growing Team

Location: Hoo, Rochester

Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 5:00pm

Pay: Starting from £13.77 per hour

Employment: Self-Employed

The Metal Collective is a small, family-run business based in Hoo, Rochester, specialising in the fabrication of structural and architectural steelwork. Due to continued growth, we are looking for a hardworking, reliable, and driven individual to join our team as a Yard Manager.

The Role

As our Yard Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the yard. Your responsibilities will include:

Loading and unloading lorries using a forklift.
Organising steel and materials into job order.
Painting fabricated steelwork.
Checking that all materials required for each project have been completed before dispatch.
Liaising closely with our fabrication team to ensure jobs stay on schedule.
Working alongside the business owner to develop and implement new procedures that improve workflow, efficiency, and production.
Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised yard.

Essential Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must:

Be 25 years of age or over (for vehicle insurance purposes).
Hold, or have previously held, a forklift truck licence.
Have a full UK driving licence and your own transport due to our location.
Have at least 3 years’ experience in a similar Yard Manager or supervisory yard role.
Be organised, proactive, and capable of working independently.
Have a positive attitude and be willing to get involved wherever needed.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday
7:00am – 5:00pm
Overtime is available when required, although it cannot be guaranteed.

Pay

Starting rate: £14.00 per hour, with opportunities for progression based on performance and experience.
