Not Your Average Print Job…
We're looking for someone a little different.
Someone who's equally comfortable getting hands-on with a DTF printer in the morning, working on an online product listing in the afternoon, and coming up with an idea for a social media post before they go home.
We're a small, friendly and fast-moving workwear, clothing and personalised garment business based in Salford. We supply customers ranging from individuals to businesses through to major events and organisations, selling both directly and through multiple online marketplaces.
As the business continues to develop, we're creating a new role combining print production, digital operations, e-commerce and creative marketing.
This isn't a job where you'll be doing exactly the same thing every day.
It's an opportunity for the right person to learn several areas of an e-commerce and garment-decoration business, take genuine responsibility for their work and develop a role that can grow with them.
The Role
You'll work across three key areas of our business:
1. DTF Print Production & Print Room Operations
A major part of the role will be learning and ultimately being capable of independently operating our DTF print-production system.
Working alongside our experienced Print Studio team, you'll learn our complete production process and become confident enough to provide operational cover when required.
This will include:
- Operating our commercial DTF printing equipment.
- Using RIP/DTF print software to prepare and process artwork for production.
- Setting up print files, sizing artwork and checking specifications.
- Understanding colour, positioning, dimensions and garment requirements.
- Preparing print media and transfers for production.
- Operating heat presses and correctly applying transfers to different garments.
- Setting up the DTF equipment ready for daily production.
- Monitoring print quality throughout production.
- Carrying out routine operator-level maintenance and cleaning.
- Correctly completing daily machine shutdown procedures.
- Identifying basic production problems and troubleshooting where appropriate.
- Managing print queues and prioritising work according to dispatch deadlines.
- Checking completed work against customer specifications.
- Following and helping maintain our Print Studio quality-control procedures.
Quality is extremely important to us.
We would rather identify a problem before production than discover it after 50 garments have been printed.
You'll therefore need to be someone who naturally checks, questions and takes ownership rather than simply assuming something is correct.
Our objective is to train the successful candidate to a level where they can confidently run the print-production operation when another experienced team member is absent.
2. E-Commerce, Marketplaces & Product Listings
When you're not required within production, you'll work alongside members of our digital and marketplace team.
We operate across multiple online sales channels and are continually developing new products, designs and marketplaces.
Your work could include:
- Creating and improving online product listings.
- Preparing product titles, descriptions and specifications.
- Uploading and organising product imagery.
- Helping optimise listings to improve visibility and conversion.
- Supporting our marketplace operations.
- Helping introduce products onto new platforms.
- Researching products, competitors and market opportunities.
- Using AI tools to improve product descriptions, content and workflows.
- Assisting with new product launches.
- Helping maintain accurate product information across our online channels.
Previous marketplace or e-commerce experience would be fantastic, but it isn't essential if you're confident with computers and keen to learn.
3. Social Media, Content & Creative Marketing
This is an area of the business we're particularly keen to develop.
We have the products. We have the customers. We have plenty happening every day.
We want somebody who can help us get better at showing people what we do.
Depending on your skills and interests, this could include:
- Helping plan social media content.
- Creating posts, stories and short-form videos.
- Photographing or filming products and production behind the scenes.
- Developing ideas for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and other channels.
- Helping build a consistent content calendar.
- Creating simple promotional graphics.
- Using AI-assisted creative tools to develop artwork and marketing concepts.
- Helping turn new products, customer orders and events into engaging content.
- Monitoring what works and developing future ideas accordingly.
You don't need to arrive as a professional graphic designer.
We're increasingly using modern AI and creative software to make design and content creation faster and more accessible, and we're happy to teach the right person how we use these tools.
What we're much more interested in is whether you have ideas, curiosity and the confidence to try things.
Who Are We Looking For?
We're deliberately keeping this fairly open.
You might already work within garment printing or DTF production.
You might come from e-commerce, digital marketing or online retail and enjoy the idea of learning the production side.
You might simply be a highly capable, practical and digitally confident person looking for an opportunity where you can learn and progress.
You don't necessarily need experience in every part of this job.
We can teach skills. We're much more interested in finding the right person.
The person we're looking for will ideally be:
- Reliable and punctual.
- Extremely attentive to detail.
- Confident using computers and learning new software.
- Practical and comfortable operating machinery.
- Able to follow instructions accurately.
- Comfortable asking questions when something doesn't look right.
- Organised and able to manage several priorities.
- Happy working independently once trained.
- Comfortable taking responsibility for their own work.
- Creative and willing to contribute ideas.
- Interested in AI and new technology.
- Comfortable working as part of a small team.
- Someone who genuinely cares about getting the finished product right.
Most importantly, we're looking for somebody with a positive, proactive attitude.
If you spot something wrong, we'd rather you stop and ask than carry on because “that's what the paperwork said”.
Experience We'd Love to See
Any of the following would be advantageous:
- DTF printing.
- Garment decoration.
- Heat-transfer printing.
- Commercial print machinery.
- RIP or print-production software.
- Adobe Illustrator / Photoshop or similar software.
- Canva or other creative software.
- E-commerce.
- Amazon, eBay, Etsy, TikTok Shop or other online marketplaces.
- Product listing creation.
- Social media/content creation.
- Photography or short-form video.
- AI creative tools.
Please don't be put off if you don't tick every box.
A candidate with the right attitude, strong computer skills, excellent attention to detail and a genuine willingness to learn will absolutely be considered.
Hours
We're initially looking for approximately 25–30 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
The exact working pattern can be discussed with the successful candidate.
Importantly, this role has been designed with room to grow.
As you become trained across print production, marketplaces and digital operations, there will be the opportunity for the role to increase towards 35+ hours per week and for you to take greater ownership of particular areas of the business.
We're looking for somebody who ideally wants to grow with the position rather than simply fill a temporary gap.
Pay
£13.00–£15.00 per hour, depending on skills and experience.
Someone requiring training across several areas would ordinarily start towards the lower end of the range.
A candidate bringing relevant DTF/print-production, e-commerce or digital experience may start higher depending on the skills they bring to the business.
Pay and responsibilities will be reviewed as the role develops.
What We Offer
- Monday–Friday daytime working.
- No regular evening or night shifts.
- A varied role where no two days need to be identical.
- Hands-on training across DTF garment production.
- Experience across e-commerce and multiple online marketplaces.
- Exposure to AI-assisted artwork and digital content creation.
- The opportunity to develop social media and marketing skills.
- Genuine scope for additional hours and responsibility.
- The opportunity to influence how your own role develops.
- A relaxed, friendly small-business environment.
- The chance to see the direct impact of the work you do.
About Us
We're an independent Manchester-based business specialising in workwear, personalised clothing, garment decoration and online retail.
Our operation combines in-house print production with a growing multi-channel e-commerce business.
Because we're a smaller business, people aren't hidden away inside individual departments.
You'll see how an order moves from an idea or online listing through artwork, production, printing, packing and ultimately into the customer's hands.
For someone who wants to learn, that provides an opportunity to gain experience across several areas that would normally be completely separate jobs within a larger organisation.
Interested?
Send us your CV together with a short introduction telling us a little about yourself.
We're particularly interested in knowing:
1. Which part of this role interests you most?
2. What experience do you have with printing, machinery, e-commerce, social media or digital/creative software?
3. What is something you've taught yourself to do using technology, software or AI?
4. Approximately how many hours per week are you ideally looking for?
We don't expect one person to already know everything.
We're looking for someone who's capable, dependable, interested in learning and excited by the opportunity to become an important part of a growing business.
