Job Overview
We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Technical Audit Support Officer to join our team. This role involves managing the internal audit schedules for the Millerdale and Consett sites, along with the associated NCR process to ensure compliance with BRC, customer and Princes standards. The role also entails managing allergen validation scheduling and testing for Millerdale.
Reporting to the QA Manager, the Technical Audit & Support Officer Assures factory GMP and legal standards, as specified in Quality Management System (QMS support manufacturing operations to ensure right first-time production at Millerdale and Consett, by working closely with all personnel so as to drive continuous improvement of product, process and people.
The individual is pivotal in upholding Company and customer compliance to product Quality, Safety and Legal standards whilst providing the necessary technical information and advice to the Engineering/Production Operators. This is achieved by applying knowledge of industry standards & regulations, ingredients, packaging, processing and plant functionality so as to meet the required food safety and quality standards. Ultimately this will lead to a reinforcement of the company’s due diligence defence.
The postholder will also be responsible for the adherence to standards, for all operations within the area, for the packing & process activities; to the maintaining of proper, accurate, and legible records.
Key responsibilities
a) To ensure that all Company quality parameters and procedures are complied with and that all products manufactured meet the required standards and specifications.
b) Conducting structured GMP/Hygiene/Compliance/HACCP audits of process & packing operations to ensure right first time, adherence to procedures & protocols, customer requirements, and provide corrective actions when necessary.
c) Scheduling and allocation of the sites internal audit program and ongoing maintenance of the site internal audit schedule
d) Issue of Non-Conformance Reports and management of the associated database, ensuring that NCR corrective actions are completed in a timely manner and are verified for effectiveness.
e) Conducting audits in line with the internal audit schedule for the Millerdale and Consett sites.
f) Investigate all instances of failure to ensure corrective and preventative actions are captured.
g) Verify all actions raised throughout the pest control programme.
h) Maintenance of the site allergen and vegan validation and verification schedules (Millerdale)
i) Co-ordination and documentation of the site allergen validation exercises (Millerdale)
j) Update of internal audit templates where advised by relevant department post review of customer COP.
k) Providing technical information and advice to Engineering/Production Operatives.
l) Maintains, with others, technical operating standards and functionality.
m) Acting as a source of knowledge of ingredient and plant functionality to achieve optimum output working with the area team to improve quality and efficiency targets.
n) To ensure that the Company is professionally represented at all times, both inside and outside the business.
o) To protect the health, safety and welfare of the job-holder and others at all times.
p) To take an active role in continuously developing the job-holder’s skills and knowledge. through self-development activities and/or through attending Company organised training and development opportunities.
q) To respond to ad hoc requests and/or take an active role in specific projects as directed by the job-holder’s line manager.
r) To undertake any other reasonable duties as may from time to time be required by the Company.
s) Ensure brand integrity is maintained at all times according to business policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Proven experience or strong interest in quality assurance or related fields.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in data collection and reporting.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively liaise with team members and stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior experience supporting technical audits or familiarity with compliance standards is desirable but not essential.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in quality management or assurance will be advantageous. This role is ideal for proactive individuals eager to contribute to organisational excellence through rigorous support of audit processes and quality assurance initiatives.

Pay: £26,000.00-£27,000.00 per year
