Full job description

We are looking for grounds maintenance operatives in the Bracknell area to join our ever expanding business. Role will be based out of our Bracknell depot.
Previous experience preferred but not essential. Duties include grass cutting, shrub bed maintenance, Seasonal bedding displays and all associated grounds maintenance tasks.
Suitable candidates will preferably have a least 1 years’ experience in a similar role and experience in the use of all grounds maintenance equipment in a commercial environment. Ride on mower experience is an advantage.
A full driving license required for the position, PA1/6 would be advantageous but not essential.

1. To ensure completion of all programmed work to a high quality whilst undertaking landscape/grounds maintenance duties.

2. To be accountable for the quality of work achieved at specific sites/routes in Bracknell Forest. To be accountable for ensuring the correct standards of work are maintained, to report non – completion of work and agree with your Team Leader or Assistant Contract Manager any remedial action.

3. To drive company vehicles, and be responsible for all daily checks, routine maintenance, and vehicle cleanliness ensuring that any defects found are reported to the Assistant Contract Manager.

4. To ensure all machinery and equipment are treated with care, attention and are correctly and regularly operated in a safe manner, ensuring that the correct equipment is used for the correct job, including:

· Weeding

· Digging and planting

· Litter picking and rubbish clearance

· Sweeping non mechanical

· Strimming

· Mowing

· Operating of simple tools and machinery

· Line marking

· Weed spraying

· Operating of ride-on mowers and more complex machinery and plant

· Hedge cutting

· Maintenance of fine/sports turf

· Tractor operation

· Traffic management as required

· Other tasks as required

5. Ensure that you wear all relevant personal protective equipment to enable you to carry out your duties in a safe and healthy manner and avoid harm or injury to any other person.

6. Ensure you are wearing company uniform and have the appropriate identification and make sure that high standards of presentation and cleanliness are maintained at all times.

7. Ensure that you sign in and out accordingly and that time/attendance sheets are submitted to the Team Leader on a weekly basis.

8. To deal with the general public, residents and colleagues in a courteous and professional manner.

9. To ensure all team members comply with Continental Landscapes policies and procedures.

10. To undertake appropriate training as and when required.

To undertake such duties as are appropriate to your grade and hours of work as may reasonably be required of you by your line manager

· Physically able of completing the work e.g. Heavy lifting

· A good health record

· Flexible, can do attitude

· Responsible

· Honest and reliable

· Full UK Driving License (Essential)

· 37 Hour week

· To undertake horticultural, landscape and grounds maintenance duties in all weathers as allocated by the Team Leader ensuring all work is carried out to the agreed quality and productivity standards.
