Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Urdu Teacher to inspire and educate students in the Urdu language and literature. The successful candidate will develop engaging lesson plans, foster a positive learning environment, and support students’ linguistic and cultural understanding. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to students’ academic growth while promoting appreciation for Urdu language and heritage.

Duties

Prepare and deliver comprehensive Urdu lessons tailored to diverse student needs.
Foster a supportive classroom atmosphere that encourages active participation and curiosity.
Assess student progress through quizzes, assignments, and examinations, providing constructive feedback.
Incorporate creative writing, proofreading, and journalism techniques to enhance language skills.
Mentor students in developing their communication skills, behaviour management, and organisational abilities.
Support students with special educational needs by adapting teaching methods accordingly.
Organise tutoring sessions and extracurricular activities to reinforce learning objectives.
Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum content that integrates elements of storytelling, poetry, and cultural studies.
Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress reports.

Skills

Proven experience in teaching Urdu or related languages with strong mentoring capabilities.
Excellent communication skills to effectively engage students of varying ages and backgrounds.
Proficiency in creative writing, proofreading, and journalism to enrich lesson content.
Ability to manage behaviour constructively within the classroom environment.
Strong organisational skills for planning lessons, assessments, and extracurricular activities.
Experience in tutoring students with diverse learning needs, including those requiring special education support.
Knowledge of teaching methodologies relevant to language instruction and literacy development.
Familiarity with integrating subjects such as mathematics or other core disciplines into language lessons when appropriate. This position provides an enriching opportunity for passionate educators committed to fostering linguistic excellence and cultural appreciation among students.
