Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Fisherman/Deckhand to join our maritime team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with fishing operations, maintaining vessel safety, and supporting deck activities. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, contributing to sustainable fishing practices while ensuring the smooth operation of our vessel. Candidates should be physically fit, adaptable, and eager to learn new skills in a challenging yet rewarding setting.

Duties

Assist with setting and retrieving fishing gear, ensuring proper handling and maintenance
Support navigation and manoeuvring of the vessel under supervision
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the deck area to ensure safety standards are met
Help with loading and unloading catches, ensuring proper storage onboard
Conduct routine safety checks on equipment and safety gear
Assist with general vessel maintenance tasks, including cleaning and minor repairs
Follow all safety protocols and maritime regulations during operations
Support crew members in daily tasks to ensure efficient workflow onboard

Experience

Prior experience in fishing or maritime environments is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
Basic understanding of boat operations and safety procedures is preferred
Ability to work in physically demanding conditions and handle heavy equipment or gear safely
Good teamwork skills, with the ability to follow instructions accurately
Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends as required
Valid maritime or fishing industry certifications are a plus but not mandatory
