As part of this transformation, NSS and NES have joined to form a new organisation: Public Services Delivery Scotland (PSD Scotland). This new organisation will play a pivotal role in supporting the renewal and ensuring the long-term sustainability of health and care services across Scotland.

The Post:
The Practitioner and Contractor Finance Services unit of NHS National Services Scotland (NSS) is looking for a Payments /Payment Verification Lead to join its Contractor Finance Team.
The Candidate:
The post holder will play a key role in management of payment and payment verification services within contractor finance. The role will be responsible for all analysis and subsequent payments within the Dental and Ophthalmic payment stream, and the role will be required to check, validate, and authorise accurate payments to all eligible contractors on behalf of the NHS Health Boards.
The post holder will lead the Dental and Ophthalmic payment services, managing the payment/payment verification team assisting in the delivery of the Dental and Ophthalmic monthly payment and payment verification services to ensure all audit control requirements are being met and build effective working relationships and working collaboratively with multi-professional teams.
The post holder will manage the payment team workload and support them with regards complex financial queries, will verify the validity of claims against the scheme criteria alongside providing detailed analysis and reporting to the Scottish Government and National Finance Manager.
The post holder will have a large degree of freedom to manage their own workload within the cycle of the monthly payment run and will report directly to the National Finance Manager and identify the key issues to be addressed. It is crucial that they will be able to deal with sensitive issues in a confidential manner and a team player with the ability to work independently.
The post holder will be self-motivated, numerate, and willing to take the initiative to design new solutions to complex problems and working processes and bringing new ideas on how we can perform better, do things differently and learn from best practice.
They will be educated to degree level with a CCAB qualification, have significant experience of Microsoft Office applications with advanced excel skills. They will also be skilled in financial modelling and analysis and Power applications. Please see the person specification for more details on the required skills.
The successful candidate will be required to undergo a Disclosure Scotland check. Any candidate who have lived/worked overseas for more than 12 months in the preceding 5 years will also be required to provide a criminal record check from the appropriate overseas agency.
Location and Working Pattern:
Gyle Square, Edinburgh or Delta House, Glasgow.
Currently hybrid working
Monday to Friday/Sunday, 36 hours per week
