Assistant Management Accountant

c.£30k DOE + Pension & Life Assurance (12x basic salary)

With 60 years’ experience Barr + Wray is recognised as a world leading provider of pool and spa design and water engineering. We provide cutting edge concepts, schematic, detailed designs and installations through our 5 principle operating divisions; Pools, Spas, Water Solutions, Process Equipment and Aftersales.

Office Based, Hillington, Glasgow.

Core hours of work 33.75 hours per week

Monday- Thursday 9am- 5pm

Friday 9am- 3.45pm

With one hour for lunch each day.

We have a full-time permanent vacancy for an Assistant Management Accountant within our accounts department, reporting into the Financial Director and within a team of four you will have a highly visible presence within the business.

Job Description

Duties will include:

Maintaining and reconciling cash books daily
Analysing weekly timesheets for job costing and overtime
Reconciling VAT
Handling accruals and prepayments
Posting nominal journals
Collating data for payroll
Assist in the preparation and production of accounts
Balance sheet reconciliations
P&L analysis
Budgeting, forecasting & cash flow

Practical Experience

SAGE Accounts experience
Strong MS Office & Excel skills
Quarterly online VAT submissions
Accounts preparation
Experience of using bespoke ERPs
Construction industry experience would be an advantage

Required Characteristics

Adaptative to change and ability to keep on top of multiple tasks
Inquisitive nature, keen to spot opportunities to do things better
Reliable and self-motivated individual
