Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated After-School Dance Club Teacher to inspire children through dance and movement activities. The successful candidate will organise engaging dance sessions that promote physical activity, creativity, and social interaction among young learners. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work with children in a dynamic environment, fostering their confidence and love for dance while ensuring a safe and supportive atmosphere. The position is paid and suitable for individuals with a background in early childhood education, teaching, or childcare.

Duties

Plan and deliver age-appropriate dance lessons that cater to diverse learning needs and abilities
Create a fun, inclusive environment that encourages participation and enjoyment of dance activities
Manage behaviour effectively, promoting positive discipline and social skills development
Support children’s physical development through teaching basic dance techniques and movement skills
Monitor attendance and engagement during sessions, providing feedback to parents or guardians as needed
Collaborate with school staff and parents to ensure the programme aligns with educational goals and child welfare standards
Maintain a safe environment by adhering to health and safety regulations during all activities
Incorporate elements of creative writing or storytelling into dance routines to enhance imaginative thinking (nice-to-have)
Proofread lesson plans and activity materials for clarity and accuracy before sessions

Qualifications

Experience working with children, preferably in early childhood education or preschool settings
Knowledge of special education needs is desirable but not essential
Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and colleagues
Proven ability in behaviour management and creating a positive learning environment
Skills in teaching physical education or dance are highly advantageous
Background in tutoring, childcare, or teaching creative subjects such as creative writing or maths is beneficial
Demonstrated organisational skills, including proofreading lesson plans and educational materials
Previous experience with preschool or early childhood programmes is preferred

This role provides an enriching opportunity to contribute positively to children's development through dance while working in a supportive team environment.

Pay: £20.00-£25.00 per hour
