About Us

FJ Booth Construction Ltd is a well-established, family-run structural steel fabrication and construction company based in Guisborough. We are known for delivering high-quality steelwork solutions across a range of sectors and pride ourselves on craftsmanship, safety, and reliability.

The Role

We are currently seeking an experienced Plater/Welder to join our skilled workshop team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating and welding structural steel components in line with technical drawings and specifications.

Key Responsibilities

Interpret and work from engineering drawings
Plate, fabricate, and assemble steelwork components
Carry out welding to a high standard
Ensure all work meets quality and safety standards
Maintain a clean and organised working environment
Work collaboratively with team members to meet production deadlines

Requirements

Proven experience as a plater and/or welder in a fabrication environment
Ability to read and understand technical drawings
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Good timekeeping and reliability
Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable (but not essential)

NVQ Level 2/3 in Fabrication & Welding or equivalent
Experience working with structural steel
Overhead crane or forklift experience
