Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Plumber to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems across various commercial and residential properties. This role requires a strong understanding of plumbing principles, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with practical skills in welding, carpentry, and the use of hand and power tools to contribute to high-quality service delivery.

Duties

Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems including pipes, fixtures, and appliances in accordance with safety standards and building codes.
Use a variety of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and specialised plumbing tools to complete tasks effectively.
Conduct inspections to identify issues within plumbing systems and perform necessary repairs or replacements.
Measure and cut pipes accurately using appropriate tools; assemble piping systems with precision.
Perform basic carpentry tasks related to plumbing installations or repairs when required.
Assist with the assembly of plumbing components and fixtures during new installations or renovations.
Carry out heavy lifting of materials such as pipes, fixtures, or equipment safely and efficiently.
Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used; ensure all work complies with relevant regulations.
Adhere to health and safety protocols at all times, recognising potential hazards around plumbing installations.

Requirements

Proven experience in plumbing work within commercial or residential settings.
Proficiency in welding, use of hand tools, power tools, and other mechanical equipment essential for plumbing tasks.
Strong mechanical knowledge combined with basic maths skills for measurements and calculations.
Ability to perform carpentry tasks related to plumbing installations or repairs.
Physical capability for heavy lifting and working in confined or elevated spaces; comfortable working on ladders or scaffolding if necessary.
Valid driving licence suitable for commercial driving duties is desirable but not essential.
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail; ability to follow technical drawings or plans accurately.
Good communication skills; capable of working independently or as part of a team under supervision.
