Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Head Chef to lead our culinary team within a dynamic hospitality environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional food and service standards. This role involves supervising kitchen operations, menu creation, managing food preparation, and ensuring compliance with food safety regulations. The Head Chef will play a pivotal role in maintaining high-quality standards while fostering a positive team atmosphere.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to quality standards
Supervise and mentor kitchen staff, including chefs, cooks, and support personnel
Coordinate food preparation and cooking activities to meet menu specifications and customer expectations
Stock and Supplier management
Ensure all food safety and hygiene regulations are strictly followed across the kitchen
Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and control wastage to optimise resources
Assist in developing new menu items and improve existing recipes in collaboration with the culinary team
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment at all times
Support and communicate with front-of-house staff during busy service periods to ensure seamless customer experience
Monitor staff performance, provide training where necessary, and promote a culture of continuous improvement

Qualifications

Proven supervising experience within a food production or hospitality setting
Extensive background in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen management
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team
Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations (e.g., HACCP)
Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is highly desirable
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal
Experience in culinary innovation and menu development is advantageous

This role requires a proactive leader with a passion for culinary excellence who can inspire their team whilst maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Pay: £41,700.00 per year
