About the role
Are you a hands-on individual looking to develop your career within a major engineering and construction environment? We are seeking motivated Semi-Skilled Operatives to support our mechanical maintenance and installation teams on a high-profile project.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience working alongside skilled tradespeople while contributing to the safe and efficient delivery of essential works.
What you'll be doing
As a Semi-Skilled Operative, you will:
- Assist mechanical fitters and technicians with the installation, maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment.
- Support the assembly of mechanical components and systems.
- Load, unload and transport tools, materials and equipment across site.
- Prepare and maintain safe, organised work areas.
- Carry out routine cleaning and maintenance of tools and equipment.
- Assist with basic inspections of machinery and report any defects or issues.
- Follow all health, safety and environmental procedures.
- Report unsafe conditions, incidents or near misses promptly.
- Work collaboratively with supervisors and colleagues to ensure tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
- Support the recording of completed work activities and equipment status.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance your skills.
Who we're looking for
Essential:
- Valid CSCS Card or relevant Grade Card.
- IOSH qualification.
- Ability to obtain BPSS Security Clearance.
- Strong work ethic and commitment to health and safety.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Desirable:
- Previous experience in an industrial, construction, maintenance or engineering environment.
- Experience supporting mechanical trades or site-based operations.
