The Role
You will play a key role in delivering engaging and meaningful Business Studies education, helping students to develop their business knowledge, employability skills and confidence while achieving positive outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Teaching Business Studies to post-16 students, ensuring they develop business knowledge, employability skills and confidence while making good progress towards recognised qualifications.
- Planning and delivering a sequenced Business Studies curriculum that prepares students for Level 2 and above qualifications and supports agreed learning outcomes.
- Monitoring student progress and adapting teaching to meet individual needs, including timely intervention where required.
- Creating a positive, supportive learning environment that encourages participation, collaboration and independent thinking.
- Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team and wider staff to support students' academic and personal development.
- Supporting the Thrive Practitioners in 1:1 and group sessions.
- Maintaining a strong understanding of safeguarding and always prioritising the welfare of students.
About You
You will be an enthusiastic and committed teacher or tutor who is passionate about making a difference to young people. Ideally, you will:
- Hold a recognised teaching qualification (QTS, QTLS, PGCE or equivalent preferred), or a relevant business or vocational qualification with appropriate teaching or training experience.
- Be able to teach Business Studies to Level 2 and above.
- Have experience teaching Business Studies to secondary-aged or post-16 students.
- Be confident in planning and delivering lessons using a range of teaching approaches.
- Have an understanding, or interest in, working with students with SEN or additional needs.
- Be calm, patient and resilient, with a positive approach to behaviour and engagement.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
- Be committed to safeguarding, inclusion and supporting every young person to reach their potential.

Salary & benefits
FTE salary: £27,510 - £34,200 per annum. Pro rata for 2 days a week, and dependent on qualifications and experience.

Working hours
Part-time: 2 days per week, chosen by the candidate.
Working hours: 8.30 am to 4.30 pm, Monday to Thursday. School is closed on Fridays.
