Full job description

We are looking for a Receptionist to work at our GP Surgery just outside Sevenoaks. To start immediately working Thursday and Fridays with the potential for further days.

Previous experience of working within a GP Surgery required, including some knowledge of EMIS clinical system will be an advantage although not essential.

The role would involve being the first port of call for our patients, dealing with queries as part of our professional and resilient frontline reception team, answering patient calls, booking appointments and carrying out daily administrative tasks.

You will cover reception/telephones and ensure smooth running of reception, waiting room and consulting rooms, ensuring all areas are kept tidy and the information boards in reception are correctly displayed at each session. Flexibility essential as you maybe required to cover annual leave and sickness.

Skills required for this position include:

Ability to communicate professionally and in a person centred way

Good listening skills, compassion and empathy

Willing to connect with people and arrange their care however complex

Ability to respond sensitively to people from different backgrounds, cultures and in challenging situations.

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Ability to prioritise workload and exercise judgement when dealing with patient enquiries/problems whilst adhering to practice policies.

Full and regular training will be provided together with a comprehensive induction

Note: Successful candidates will need to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 due to a change in law proposed by the government. This is required for individuals working in a Quality Care Commissioned (CQC) regulated health or social care workplace.
