Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and energetic Activities Coordinator to bring vibrant, engaging experiences to our senior residents. In this vital role, you will design, organize, and lead a variety of recreational activities that promote socialization, mental stimulation, and overall well-being. Your enthusiasm and creativity will help foster a lively community environment where residents feel valued, connected, and inspired. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors through thoughtful programming and compassionate caregiving.

Responsibilities

Plan, develop, and implement diverse activity programs tailored to residents’ interests and abilities, including those with dementia or Alzheimer’s care needs
Lead engaging group activities such as arts and crafts, music sessions, games, outings, and themed events that encourage participation and social interaction
Collaborate with care staff to assess individual resident needs and preferences, ensuring activities are inclusive and accessible
Foster a positive community atmosphere by motivating residents to participate actively in daily events
Maintain accurate records of activity participation and resident feedback to continually improve programming
Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to promote upcoming activities and gather input for new ideas
Ensure safety protocols are followed during all activities and outings

Qualifications

Prior experience in assisted living or nursing home settings is highly preferred
Knowledge of senior care practices, including dementia care and Alzheimer’s care techniques
Strong communication skills to connect empathetically with residents of diverse backgrounds
Demonstrated ability to organize engaging activities that promote mental stimulation and socialization
Caregiving experience that emphasizes patience, compassion, and attentiveness to individual needs
Familiarity with care home environments and the unique challenges faced by seniors requiring assisted living services
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
