Full job description

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Pot Washer/Kitchen Assistant to join our busy culinary team. This role is essential in maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen environment, supporting food preparation and ensuring high standards of hygiene. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for cleanliness, a positive attitude, and an interest in hospitality and culinary operations. Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or similar setting is advantageous but not mandatory, as training will be provided. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills within the hospitality industry.

Responsibilities

Wash and sanitise pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment to meet hygiene standards
Assist with basic food preparation tasks as directed by senior kitchen staff
Support the cleaning of work surfaces, floors, and storage areas to maintain a safe and organised environment
Help with organising supplies and ensuring kitchen areas are well-stocked and tidy
Follow health and safety procedures at all times to prevent accidents or contamination
Support the wider kitchen team during busy service periods by assisting with serving or other duties as required
Ensure all cleaning tasks are completed efficiently and in accordance with company policies

Qualifications

Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or hospitality is desirable but not essential
Knowledge of kitchen safety and hygiene standards is advantageous
Good organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Flexibility to work shifts as required, including weekends or evenings if necessary
A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills within the hospitality sector
