The Growth Company’s (GC) Employment Justice and Health team have an exciting new opportunity for an Employer Engagement Consultant to provide a quality recruitment service to The GC Employment customers and employers.
The Restart Scheme is a Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) initiative that provides up to a year of tailored, intensive support to people who have been on Universal Credit for more than 6 months. It helps them to overcome barriers to employment through a wide range of employability support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with employers, identifying recruitment and workforce development needs and promoting appropriate Growth Company services.
- Generate employment opportunities through proactive business development activity, including direct sales, networking events, employer meetings and stakeholder engagement.
- Source suitable vacancies and match customers to opportunities through effective employer engagement and reverse marketing activity.
- Manage employer accounts, providing excellent customer service, regular reviews and support to encourage repeat business and long-term partnerships.
- Coordinate recruitment activities, including vacancy advertising, candidate pre-screening, interview arrangements and the collection of employer feedback.
- Build effective relationships with internal teams and external partners to maximise referrals and deliver tailored employment and training solutions.
- Monitor local labour market trends and identify growing sectors and employers to create job opportunities for customers.
- Maintain accurate records, update management information systems and ensure compliance with all operational, equality, data security and health and safety requirements.
About You:
- You have previous experience working in a sales or business development environment and are motivated by achieving targets.
- You are confident building relationships with employers and stakeholders and can influence decision-makers effectively.
- You have a proactive and consultative approach, with the ability to identify opportunities and deliver tailored solutions.
- You are organised, customer-focused and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- You have a warm, approachable style and are skilled at building rapport with a wide range of people.
- You are flexible in your approach to work and willing to travel and attend occasional events outside standard working hours.
Skills Required:
- Strong sales, negotiation and account management skills.
- Excellent communication and networking skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work towards challenging targets and key performance indicators.
- Knowledge of recruitment, employability, training or workforce development services.
- Good understanding of local labour markets, recruitment practices and growth industries.
- Strong IT skills, including experience using management information systems, Microsoft Office and email applications.
- Ability to identify business opportunities, engage decision-makers and secure employer commitment.
- Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail and record-keeping abilities.
