Full job description

Suburb is thrilled to announce the upcoming opening of its first bar & restaurant in Meadowhall, Sheffield, and we’re looking for a highly skilled, professionally trained Pizza Chef to join our team.

Please note - Extensive prior experience working on a large wood / gas fired, stone bake pizza oven is essential for this role. This will be a fast paced, multi skilled position which will require high levels of attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.

Key Responsibilities:

Cook our pizzas in our commercial Woodstone pizza oven
Take ownership of the oven and the quality of products being cooked
Assist in the preparation of our pizzas using high-quality ingredients
Ensure all food safety and hygiene standards are maintained
Assist in kitchen operations and food preparation
Collaborate with team members to deliver excellent customer service
Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen
Manage inventory of ingredients and supplies
Support the overall dining experience by ensuring timely service
Comply with health & safety and licensing regulations at all times

General:

Professionally presented at all times in disposition and in appearance and approach
Have a flexible approach to working hours and duties including weekend and bank holidays
Act as an ambassador for the company and present a professional image at all times
Treat customers and colleagues fairly and with respect, value the diversity of others and work proactively to overcome communication barriers
Adhere to safe working practices and to the health and safety policy and procedures
Promote, communicate and support the company’s vision and values to all
Follow the company’s policies including but not limited to race, disability and other protected characteristics and to ensure an equal opportunity for all staff and ensure they and each of them provide a consistent and excellent service
You may also be requested to carry out other non-specific duties reasonably required for the success of the business as a whole

Required Experience and Skills:

Previous commercial wood / gas fired pizza oven experience
Strong knowledge of food safety regulations
Excellent organisational skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high pressure environment
Excellent ability to use own initiative
Passion for food and providing exceptional service

28 days (pro rata) paid holiday in each holiday year, which runs from 1 January to 31 December – this includes bank and public holidays, with the opportunity to request unpaid additional leave if you so require it and subject to management approval (at their absolute discretion)
