Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in assisting the Head Chef with daily kitchen operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality dishes, and maintaining exceptional standards of food safety and hygiene. This role offers an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for culinary arts, leadership skills, and experience in a fast-paced hospitality environment to contribute to our renowned establishment.

Duties

Assist the Head Chef in planning and preparing menus that meet quality standards and customer expectations
Supervise kitchen staff during service, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to recipes and presentation standards
Oversee food production, ensuring dishes are prepared consistently and to the highest quality
Manage food safety protocols, including proper storage, handling, and sanitation procedures
Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service delivery and guest satisfaction
Monitor inventory levels, assist with stock ordering, and minimise waste
Support training and mentoring of junior kitchen staff to develop their skills and knowledge
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen areas in compliance with health regulations
Straight shifts only

Skills

Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen environment
Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food production techniques
Excellent team management and leadership capabilities
In-depth knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
Experience working in a restaurant or hospitality setting with a focus on high-quality service
Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service periods
Good organisational skills with attention to detail in food presentation and quality control
Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with team members and front-of-house staff
