Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Residential Children's Home Support Workers and Senior Residential Support Workers to provide high-quality care and support to children and young adults in a residential setting. This role involves working closely with vulnerable individuals, ensuring their safety, well-being, and development. The position offers an opportunity to make a positive impact on young lives while working within a supportive team environment. Candidates should be committed to fostering a nurturing atmosphere and promoting independence among residents.

Duties:

Provide personalised care in accordance with individual care plans, ensuring the physical, emotional, and social needs of children and young people are met.
Support residents with daily activities such as meal preparation, and recreational pursuits.
Assist with behaviour management strategies, promoting positive behaviour and resolving conflicts effectively.
Facilitate educational activities and encourage participation in community outings or leisure activities.
Maintain accurate records of young people’s progress, incidents, and care routines in compliance with organisational policies.
Collaborate with colleagues, social workers, families, and external agencies to ensure holistic support for each young person.
Drive residents safely to appointments or outings when required, maintaining adherence to road safety regulations.
The Support Workers will be expected to work closely with the Team Leaders and the Ofsted Registered Manager to ensure adherence to all policies, systems, practices, and processes for effective management of the home and the care of the young people.

Skills:

Proven experience working with children or vulnerable young adults in a care setting.
Valid driving licence and the ability to drive safely and confidently.
Strong understanding of young people care principles and the ability to implement care plans effectively.
Excellent communication skills to engage with young people, colleagues, families, and external professionals.
Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
Proficiency in IT systems for record keeping and reporting purposes.
Empathy, patience, and resilience are essential qualities for supporting young people through their developmental journey. This role is vital in creating a safe, supportive environment where children and young people can thrive.
