Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Years Practitioner to join our childcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children, supporting their developmental needs through engaging activities and personalised care. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your management and leadership skills within a dynamic early childhood education setting. The ideal applicant will have experience working with children, a strong understanding of childcare principles, and excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues and parents.

Responsibilities

Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities that promote physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development.
Supervise children during playtime, mealtimes, and rest periods, ensuring their safety at all times.
Foster positive relationships with children to support their individual needs and encourage confidence and independence.
Maintain accurate records of children's progress and daily routines in line with regulatory standards.
Support colleagues in managing daily operations within the nursery or childcare setting.
Lead by example in promoting best practices in childcare management and health & safety procedures.
Communicate effectively with parents regarding children's development, behaviour, and wellbeing.
Contribute to the organisation of staff rotas and resource management to ensure smooth daily operations.
Assist in training new staff members or interns as required.

Requirements

Proven experience working with children within a nursery or early childhood education environment.
Strong management and leadership skills to oversee daily activities and team coordination.
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
Knowledge of childcare regulations, health & safety standards, and safeguarding procedures.
Relevant qualifications in early childhood education or childcare (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Childcare).
Ability to work effectively as part of a team while demonstrating initiative independently.
Flexibility to work varied shifts if necessary; driving licence is desirable for travel between multiple settings or parent meetings.
Passionate about supporting children's development through engaging learning experiences. This role is an exciting opportunity for a committed Early Years Practitioner eager to make a positive impact on young children's lives while developing their professional skills within a supportive environment.

Pay: £12.71-£13.50 per hour
