We’re now looking for an Accounts Payable Assistant to join our finance team and support our continued growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately and promptly enter financial transactions into QuickBooks.
- Manage accounts payable: process supplier invoices, track due dates, and prepare payment runs.
- Liaise with suppliers and internal departments to resolve invoice or payment queries.
- Supporting the inventory management team by administrative processing of Purchase Orders, such as raising to forecast, emailing to suppliers and keeping the order book up to date with due dates and delays.
- Reconcile bank statements regularly to ensure accuracy of records, prevent duplicate invoice payments, and optimum VAT recovery.
- Monitor accounts receivable for a small number of wholesale customers.
- Support in preparing reports and summaries for management review.
- Other tasks as required from time to time.
Desirable Experience & Skills
- Previous experience in an accounting or finance support role, ideally within a small growing or medium sized business.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (or similar accounting software).
- Strong experience with accounts payable processes, including invoice entry, payment runs and bank reconciliation.
- Utilisation of AI in a business or accounting environment.
- Strong Excel skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
- Part / working towards AAT qualification (or similar), or equivalent experience.
