Reading, Berkshire, RG6 1AZ
Hours of work: (47 hours), start and finish times, and working days during the week are flexible:
Thursday (08:00 to 16:30) 8 hours
Friday (08:00 to 16:30) 8 hours
Saturday (06:00 to 18:00) 11.5 hours
Sunday (06:00 to 18:00) 11.5 hours
Monday (08:00 to 16:30) 8 hours
£12.71–£13.22 per hour (depending on experience)

The Role

We are recruiting a Quality Control Inspector to work in a manufacturing environment.

You’ll inspect and test products from injection and extrusion moulding, ensuring they meet quality standards and specifications.

Key Duties

Inspect and test products to confirm quality compliance
Conduct First-Off/Last-Off and Patrol Inspection checks
Accurately record inspection and test results
Identify and segregate non-conforming products
Escalate quality issues to Setters, Shift Supervisors, and Quality Supervisor
Follow Health & Safety, quality standards, and procedures
Support continuous improvement on the shop floor

What We’re Looking For

Experience in a quality-related or inspection role
Ability to use inspection tools and interpret technical specifications
Ability to work to defined standards and procedures
Ability to work independently with sound decision-making skills
Able to observe, guide, and challenge others who may not be following process
Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset
Technical mindset and understanding
Good communication skills (written & verbal English)
Competent in basic IT skills (data entry, reporting)
Health & Safety conscious

Desirable

Use of measuring equipment (e.g. digital calipers)
Ability to read and interpret product drawings
ISO 9001 experience or quality qualification
Knowledge of common moulding defects and their causes
