The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Transport Planner to join our Network Planning Centre team at our head office in Basingstoke – Chineham.

As a Transport Planner you will be responsible for planning products through the Gist network for Marks & Spencer. Strong communication skills will be vital to ensuring a solid relationship with depots and customers throughout the UK and Ireland. Working in a fast-paced environment, we encourage creativeness and thinking outside the box to ensure that efficient plans are created.

Role detatils

Working Pattern: 4 on 4 off working a 7:00am – 7:00pm shift pattern

What you'll be doing

Your key accountabilities will include:

Using the Paragon Software planning tool to produce efficient plans for our depots and associated customers, whilst adhering to strict service requirements
Analysing plans to identify network opportunities to reduce costs, drive efficiency to minimise our environmental impact and maximise profits
Working with the operational teams to facilitate the delivery of initiatives

What we're looking for

Your skills and experience will include:

Highly motivated, resilient, and passionate, with the ability to perform effectively under pressure.
Excellent communicator who builds strong relationships and collaborates effectively across teams and stakeholders.
Proactive problem-solver with a continuous improvement mindset and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Strong organisational and IT skills, with confidence using operational and transport management systems.
Knowledge of Working Time Directive (WTD) regulations and drivers' hours legislation.
Experience in road transport scheduling is desirable.
