Full job description

Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Community Pharmacist who would like to develop their clinical skills within a busy and supportive GP practice in Queen’s Park.

This is a predominantly training and development role, working in person alongside the duty doctor, GPs and the practice pharmacist. The successful candidate will receive supervised training in the assessment and management of minor ailments, interpretation of blood-test results, clinical decision-making and communicating results and management plans to patients.

The post would suit a community pharmacist who is keen to transition into general practice and broaden their experience of primary care. An Independent Prescribing qualification is preferable.

The role is full-time, five days per week, from 9:00am to 5:00pm, and must be undertaken in person at the local GP practice.

Responsibilities

Provide expert advice on medication management and optimise pharmacotherapy for diverse patient populations within the community setting
Support the delivery of patient care by conducting medication reviews, counselling, and education to promote safe and effective medication use
Collaborate with general practitioners, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop personalised treatment plans
Assist in the training and supervision of pharmacy interns and junior staff as part of the practice’s educational programmes
Maintain accurate documentation of patient interactions, medication records, and clinical notes in compliance with regulatory standards
Contribute to service development initiatives aimed at improving pharmacy-led interventions within the practice
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss complex cases and optimise patient outcomes
Keep up-to-date with current clinical guidelines, anatomy knowledge, and advancements in medication administration techniques

Requirements

Fully qualified Community Pharmacist registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) or equivalent regulatory body with prescribing
Prior experience in ICU settings is desirable but not essential; a strong background in patient care is required
Demonstrated knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medication administration protocols
Excellent communication skills with an ability to engage effectively with patients and healthcare colleagues
Proven organisational skills with attention to detail in documentation and clinical record keeping
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment
Commitment to ongoing professional development and training in general practice pharmacy services

Pay: £25.00-£30.00 per hour
