Full job description

Finance Assistant - Management Accounts

Wattrus Group | Full-Time | Mon–Fri | 08:30–16:30

Location: Solihull
Salary: £28,000 to £32,000 (dependent on experience)
Hours: 8.30am to 4.30pm, 37.50 hours per week
Job Type: Permanent position

The Role

You will be involved in transaction processing and supporting month end management accounts as well as helping with statutory compliance and year end accounts. Specific duties to include

Analysis and coding of monthly credit card statements
Dealing with problem credit control accounts
Month End Accruals and Prepayments
Month End Journal preparation and posting
Month end accounts Timetable control to achieve required deadlines
Extracting data from Sage to prepare monthly management accounts
Variance analysis and commentary
Assist in HMRC compliance (VAT etc)
Reporting on project spend
Other duties as required

Key Requirements (Essential)

Experience working in a finance department for an SME or similar environment
Proven experience in month end accounts preparation
Having a keen eye for detail being a completer finisher with a ‘can-do’ attitude
Manufacturing and or Construction sector experience

Qualities and Skills

Must be competent using Sage 50
Management accounts experience (minimum 2 years)
Accomplished communication skills (written & spoken)
Flexible and able to achieve deadlines
Good level of IT skills
Self-Motivated & can-do attitude
Methodical and organised
An eye for detail
Good level of numeric skills
An excellent telephone manner
Good time management
Excellent house keeping

Desirable Qualities

AAT level 3 or above
Competence in the use of Sage 50 & Construction Management 50
Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) to Intermediate level
