We are looking to recruit a mechanic due to further growth within the business. If you are an experienced mechanic then this might be of interest.

BGG Garden and Tree Care Ltd, established in 1999, is a family-owned and -operated business that has expanded to more than 40 local employees. We provide a comprehensive suite of services—including commercial and residential grounds maintenance, highway verge cutting, arboriculture, tree surgery, and site clearances—delivered with precision and care.

Mechanic

The Role

As a Mechanic, you’ll be responsible for maintaining, servicing, and repairing a wide range of vehicles and equipment. Working as part of a professional team, you’ll ensure all machinery is safe, reliable, and ready for operational use, while adhering to strict Health & Safety procedures.

Key responsibilities include:

Servicing, maintenance, and repair of vehicles, plant, and equipment
Diagnosing faults and carrying out effective repairs
Routine inspections and preventative maintenance to minimise downtime
Maintaining service records and reporting faults or defects
Repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems where required
Ensuring all equipment is compliant with safety regulations
Working efficiently to meet deadlines and keep operations running smoothly

About You

We’re looking for individuals who take pride in their work, are methodical, and have a strong focus on safety and reliability.

Essential:

Previous experience as a mechanic (plant, fleet, agricultural, or automotive)
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
Competent in using workshop tools and diagnostic equipment
Good communication, teamwork, and timekeeping skills
Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively

Desirable:

Relevant mechanical qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent)
Experience with grounds maintenance, arboricultural equipment and vehicles
Full UK Driving Licence
Own set of tools would be advantageous
