We are a fun, creative, customer-focused books wholesaler, curating and supplying gorgeous book ranges for an exciting mix of retailers. The Role
As a sales support team member at Bookspeed, you will play a vital role in supporting our continued success by providing high-quality administrative, customer service, and operational support to our Sales Team and customers.
The Sales Team are supported by a team of Sales Support staff and this support is a critical contribution to the success of the company. Sales Support staff are responsible for ensuring that administrative, reporting, and data provision tasks are completed swiftly and accurately.
You’ll be working with a wide variety of retail clients, from small independent boutiques and farm shops to some of the UK’s most iconic heritage attractions and high-street names – helping to ensure they receive seamless, efficient service every step of the way.
Working closely with our Account Managers, your focus will be on delivering timely and accurate support to assist them in their day-to-day work. From processing orders, preparing and setting up and onboarding new accounts- our contributions will help us delivery a standout experience for our customers every time.
What you will be doing
- Provide excellent customer service by acting as the first point of contact for customer enquiries via phone, email and live chat.
- Support Account Managers with order processing, credits, returns, customer communications, and issue resolution
- Manage customer account administration, including new account set up, record maintenance, and GDPR compliance
- Investigate and resolve customer complaints and delivery issues, ensuring timely and effective solutions
- Assist with trade show and event preparation, providing administrative support before and after events
- Deliver a range of general administrative support, including reporting, payment processing and cross-departmental assistance as required
What we’re looking for in potential candidates
- Confident, friendly communicator with strong and written verbal skills, including excellent phone etiquette
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, able to stay effective during busy periods
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office (especially Excel), with a willingness to learn and develop new skills
- Adaptable, proactive, and collaborative, able to work independently or as part of a team; previous experience is desirable but not essential
Further information
This role is a fixed term maternity cover, full-time contract position (37.5 hours per week) working Monday-Friday with flexible working available between the hours of 8am-6pm to be discussed with your line manager. Staff have two paid breaks of 15 minutes each and an unpaid break of 30 minutes at lunchtime. This contract will run until September 2027.
Full-time staff receive 32 days holiday per year, pro-rata for part-time staff.
This role is also applicable for the annual sales bonus.
