Label Rewinder / Print Finishing Operator

About the role
You’ll work in our finishing department, operating rewind and inspection equipment to convert printed label reels into finished, packed rolls ready for dispatch. The role combines hands‑on machine work with visual inspection and quality control, so it’s ideal if you enjoy practical tasks, problem‑solving and taking pride in a perfect finished product.
What you’ll do
- Set up and run label rewinding and inspection machines according to job tickets and customer specifications.
- Inspect labels on the run for print defects, registration, colour, variable data and finishing issues, stopping to correct problems where needed.
- Carry out final quality checks so every roll matches the approved proof and packing instructions.
- Accurately count, slit, and rewind labels into the correct roll sizes, cores and winding directions, ready for application or further processing.
- Complete simple machine adjustments, basic maintenance and keep your work area clean, tidy and safe.
- Work closely with printers and the wider production team to highlight any issues and keep jobs running smoothly and on time.
Who we’re looking for
We’re more interested in the right attitude and potential than a perfect CV. If you have print finishing, bindery, converting, slitting or similar manufacturing experience and want to specialise in labels, we’d like to hear from you.
You’ll likely have
- Some experience in print finishing, converting or operating production machinery (rewind, finishing, slitting, cutting, folding or similar).
- Strong attention to detail, with a real focus on quality and consistency.
- Good concentration and the ability to spot and correct issues quickly.
- A positive, team‑oriented attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
- Basic numeracy, literacy and IT skills for reading job tickets and completing simple production records.
Experience specifically on label rewinders is a bonus, but we will provide full, structured training for the right person.
