The Role
Due to continued successful growth, we have an excellent opportunity to join our Fortem team working permanently with Amplius Housing group as a Roofer You will need to have experience in all aspects of Roofing including Slate, Tile, Pitched and Flat Roofing as you will be responsible for most aspects of property maintenance and repairs to Social Housing Properties This is covering a patch of social housing properties which are based in South Birmingham, Walsall and Coventry surrounding areas, therefore travel is essential Core Hours are Monday-Friday start on site at 8.00am-4.30pm and comes with Company Van & Fuel card and excellent benefits package with generous Holiday entitlement As a Roofer, you will be ensuring all work is undertaken to a high standard with the minimum of supervision. The Roofer takes ownership of work, aiming for successful turnarounds times, operating within the company Health and Safety guidelines, and remaining within budget and time parameters, whilst being courteous and professional on site.
The Customer
Fortem’s successful contract with social housing provider Amplius Housing supports nearly 15,000 properties, This includes Repairs & Maintenance, Voids, Complex Works and FRA workstreams with additional Planned Works and Preventative Maintenance as well. Duties and Responsibilities
The role involves carrying out predominantly reactive maintenance, repairing and renewing sections on a wide variety of different roof types, (residential and communal), i.e. slate tile repairs, and or flat roof / torch on repairs & general roof maintenance. You will also repair and renew guttering, work on scaffolds and carry out scaffold inspections. You will ensure all work is undertaken to a high standard with the minimum of supervision, carry out fault diagnosis and communicating additional works required back to your Supervisor/Line Managers to ensure all follow-on works have been captured, leaving the resident assured. You will take ownership of work, aiming for 'First time Fix' on all jobs whilst remaining within budget and time parameters. You will also operate within company Health and Safety guidelines and remain up to date with technical and legal requirements of your skill areas.
What you will need
Essential Criteria PASMA trained and experience of carrying out scaffold inspections (training will be provided if you do not have this) Good knowledge of H&S and working at height Certificate or NVQ in Roofing, or equivalent experience will be considered Full UK Driving licence (max 5 points) No recent driving bans and must be able to pass basic DBS check Desirable but not essential: Past experience in a Responsive Repairs role Social Housing experience
