Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Housing Support Officer to join our team, providing essential assistance and guidance to individuals and families in securing and maintaining suitable housing. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting vulnerable clients, ensuring they access appropriate accommodation options, and receive ongoing support to sustain their tenancies. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference within the community through compassionate service and effective negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

Engage with clients to assess their housing needs and develop personalised support plans.
Assist clients in navigating the housing process, including applications and documentation.
Negotiate with landlords, housing authorities, and other stakeholders to secure suitable accommodation for clients.
Utilise Yardi software to maintain accurate records of client interactions, housing status, and case notes.
Provide advice on tenancy rights, responsibilities, and related legal matters.
Support clients in accessing additional services such as benefits, employment, or healthcare as required.
Monitor client progress and provide ongoing support to promote tenancy sustainability.
Collaborate with external agencies and community organisations to enhance service delivery.

Experience

Proven experience in housing support or social care roles is desirable.
Strong negotiation skills with the ability to advocate effectively on behalf of clients.
Familiarity with Yardi property management software is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided.
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and case management.
Compassionate approach with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently whilst maintaining a collaborative team ethos. This position offers an engaging opportunity for committed individuals passionate about supporting vulnerable populations through effective housing solutions and community engagement.
